I couldn’t believe it when I stumbled upon Cate Blanchett for my exclusive story about her being in Glasgow this week to watch Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell Williams in concert.
I’d actually got the heads up about Cate being here when I was outside the Blythswood hotel waiting on Kendrick to come out.
There was a burgundy people-carrier waiting there and I initially thought it was for Lamar, until Cate and her family crew stepped out instead. It had special parking passes to allow her into the backstage area of Bellahouston Park.
Everyone wondered how Cate managed to stay so fresh after making her UN speech in New York, jetting to Glasgow for her big night out and heading straight to the Venice film festival in the space of 48 hours.
I’m told by one of the guests at the hotel that she ordered two poached eggs and poached salmon for breakfast.
Someone also overheard her asking for her dress to be steam cleaned within the hour.
So there you have it. She is superhuman and super-organised.
