CONFUSION reigns after a gastropub in Glasgow’s West End suddenly shut up shop.
The Mallard, on Great Western Road, billed itself as a “stylish bar and neighbourhood eatery” amid much anticipation after opening in January 2017.
No announcement has been made on the business’ social media channels, with the last post on The Mallard’s Facebook page from April 8.
However, the Evening Times can confirm the business is closed with the unit now lying empty.
The restaurant’s website, however, is still very much live - and punters can still make reservations and browse the menus.
The Evening Times has reached out to a representative for comment.
The Evening Times’ sister title The Herald reviewed the restaurant last March shortly after it opened, forecasting at the time: “There may be trouble ahead.”
The unit has since reopened as Pantera, a milk and Catalonian tapas bar.
