Health bosses in Glasgow will get an extra £2million to help cope with extra pressure over the winter.
The Scottish Government has announced an extra £10m for health boards across Scotland on top of £9m previously announced with Glasgow receiving the biggest share.
Health Secretary Jeane Freeman said the cash will help health boards plan for holiday cover and help allow more weekend discharges where patients are fit to go home.
Hospitals in the city have been under pressure over the winter with an increase in admissions and extra pressure on A&E departments.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde will get £2,099,719 from the winter resilience funding.
Ms Freeman said: "We know winter creates particular pressures on our health and social care system. It's important that we are well prepared and that's why we are allocating funding earlier than ever before.
"This investment will ensure boards can put appropriate plans in place - particularly to make sure people are discharged in a timely way when it's safe to do so, and that the right staff are in place throughout the system.”
