Celtic captain Scott Brown spent time coaching local homeless children in the Phillipines as part of a charity partnership this week.
The coaching sessions were part of a visit to main club sponsor, Dafabet's charity partner the Tuloy Foundation, to celebrate the recently announced seven-year partnership with Celtic FC.
Scott spent time coaching local homeless children who, thanks to the work and support of Tuloy Foundation, have been given the opportunity to have an alternative to a life on the streets.
Celtic captain Scott Brown said: “It is an absolute privilege to be in the Philippines and a huge honour see the work of the Tuloy Foundation, a charity which shows such great care for children in need who have experienced such difficulties in their lives.
"Celtic’s own charitable arm already carries out tremendous work of this kind at home and abroad and we are looking forward to working together with the Tuloy Foundation in the future to make a positive difference to the lives of more children who are so deserving of our support.”
As well as local community support, the Tuloy Foundation provides residential and non-residential care services for children and youth in Metro Manila and other neighbouring provinces.
The Tuloy Foundation is a non-governmental, not for profit organization for marginalised children from the streets, providing them with residential care. Founded in 1993 it has an amazing story and track record, having started with 12 street kids and expanded to accommodate 1,000 children with high-quality training facilities.
Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton said: “Dafabet has a strong social conscience and they share our values. They have been a great supporter of ours at Celtic FC Foundation.
"We are very excited about further engagement with their charity partner, the Tuloy Foundation."
John Cruces, of Dafabet, added: “We’re very proud to support the Tuloy Foundation as the work they do really does make a significant difference to hundreds of children’s lives.
"As always we thank Celtic FC Foundation and the ongoing work they do for charities across the world, it’s our privilege to offer our support to the Foundation where we can and I’m sure over the next seven years we’ll continue to build on what is already a great relationship."
