THE trial of a Glasgow foodbank founder who allegedly embezzled £15,000 has been adjourned until later this year.
Julie Webster, from Summerston, has been charged with pocketing the money between March and December 2015 from Greater Maryhill Foodbank.
Prosecutors claim that she embezzled the cash whilst working as a coordinator at the Chapel Street organisation.
Webster initially pleaded not guilty to the charge through a letter from her lawyer at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
The accused was due to stand trial yesterday, however the case was further adjourned after a joint motion made by the prosecution and defence. The two teams wish to sit down and have a discussion over a possible resolution.
Sheriff Shona Gilroy granted the extra time and postponed the case until November 22.
