A MAN has died at the scene of a shooting in Airdrie.
Police Scotland said its officers were called to an incident involving a firearm in the North Lanarkshire town’s Gartness Drive at around 8.10pm on Thursday.
Following the arrival of emergency services, a man was found seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are treating the death as suspicious and enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Evening Times had previously reported how a police helicopter and an ambulance were at the scene.
An eyewitness had told the title there were eight police cars while local roads were cordoned off.
