A POIGNANT tribute was made to Frightened Rabbits frontman Scott Hutchison at the Scottish Album of the Year Awards.
The music industry raised a glass to toast the tragic singer's life at the event which was held in Paisley Town Hall on Thursday night.
Hosts Vic Galloway and Nicola Meighan lead the tribute.
Vic said: "Much has already been said about the tragic loss we have all felt regarding the Frightened Rabbit frontman.
"But Scott's impact as a musician, songwriter and genuinely lovely caring human being cannot be underestimated.
"We all still mourn his passing. Our hearts go out to his friends and family, and all those touched by his songs."
The audience was then played the band's hit Roadless over a tribute video.
Nicola added: "It is still so hard for many of us to imagine a musical world without Scott, his company, his smiling face, his tireless support for the musical community and of course his brilliant brilliant songs."
The body of the 36-year-old was recovered at Port Edgar near South Queensferry in May.
His family previously said in a statement following the death that Scott bravely battled with his own issues for many years.
The night, however, gave Scotland's musical community the chance to celebrate the best new albums.
Young Fathers won the award of £20,000 for their album Cocoa Sugar.
Band member, Alloysious Massaquoi said: “We want to thank everyone who voted, it’s fantastic for Scotland and diversity in music. This is a total surprise and an honour for us to win it twice and make history. We are obviously a multi-racial group who stand for openness, kindness, and love.”
As well as Young Fathers claiming the first prize, the nine other Shortlisted albums each won a £1,000 prize and bespoke commemorative award including a soundwave from each of the albums’ lead tracks.
Those artists included BABE, Best Girl Athlete, Franz Ferdinand, Golden Teacher, Karine Polwart with Pippa Murphy, Kobi Onyame, Mogwai, Out Lines and Siobhan Wilson.
