IF you were planning to take your pooch for some pub grub remember - a major chain is this week banning dogs.
As told in the Evening Times, Wetherspoons is beginning a policy of not allowing any dogs in its branches.
And the new diktat begins tomorrow.
The bars have had a policy of not allowing pets into pubs since opening in 1979 - although, in recent years, it has allowed “a few exceptions.”
Following consultation, bosses are launching a crack down.
A Wetherspoons spokeswoman had said: “Even well-behaved dogs can be unpredictable.
"Every dog owner thinks their dog is perfect.
“We welcome a lot of children and families. Younger children, in particular, can be unpredictable around dogs and many are scared of dogs.
“We also serve a lot of food.”
Assistance dogs will still be welcome in pubs.
