Writing in an emotional post to her followers on Twitter , she said: "I know it can be difficult talking about suicide.

"People don’t know what to say, they worry about saying the wrong thing but I promise talking is life changing.

"The more we do to normalise the conversation, the more lives we can save"

She added: "Yes we need a real ambitious coordinated approach when it comes to prevention & support.

"But we can still do our bit to help, whoever we are. Talk openly and honestly, listen & never judge because suicide doesn’t discriminate.

"It isn’t someone else’s problem to fix it’s ours".

The talented broadcaster previously said it was only the thought of causing her family "insufferable pain" and not being around to keep boyfriend Wayne Ewer's memory alive that pulled her back from the brink.
