A popular American themed Glasgow bar has been forced to defend its choice of slogan after the pun used caused one local some offence.
Buck's Bar on West Regent Street, which serves up chicken wings in a variety of flavours alongside some tasty tipples, was trying to come up with a punchy slogan which combined their rock n roll theme with the focus of their menu - chicken.
The eatery came up with the witty slogan "Sex, Birds and Rock n Roll", which they displayed on a sign outside.
However one local who presumed the "birds" was a reference to females took it apon themselves to call the joint out on their seemingly sexist choice of language.
The mystery complainant attached their own sign to the side of the word sex, amending the sign to say "sexist bulls**t".
The venue was disheartened by the assumption and took to social media to clear up any confusion.
In a Facebook post they wrote: "We would like to take time to clear something up...Our slogan here seems to have caused someone offence. It is a reference to the old saying ‘Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll’.
"The word ‘Bird’ is in reference to our chicken. We’re basically saying our chicken is addictive. That’s all. We’re a rock n roll bar so it kind of makes sense.
"If you are offended by the word ‘bird’ when referring to ladies then we apologise and don’t mean any offence. The last thing we are is sexist!"
The team then revealed that most of their staff members are actually female and affectionately called themselves "The Buck's Birds".
This is not the first time the establishment has come under fire for its choice of signage.
Back in April the bar was forced to take down a promotional sign reading "Legs n breasts served here" after it caused a number of complaints.
