CITY council chiefs have ordered safety checks at a several Glasgow schools after a classroom window crashed 20ft onto the playground.
The Scottish Sun reports that the action was taken after a scare at St Maria Goretti Primary in Cranhill.
No one was injured in the building, which also houses Lamlash Nursery.
It is understood that specialists have been out to check the rest of the property.
Now local authority bosses have arranged for tests at 11 other city schools although those the names of those affected have not been revealed.
Teachers have been warned not to open similar-styled windows until inspectors report back.
A council spokeswoman said: “The window contractor for the building has been at the school checking all windows and casings.”
