Drumchapel could be set to welcome a new retail outlet and dozens of new homes, if plans are given the go-ahead.
Designs submitted to transform a local brownfield site into a retail and leisure outlet.
The vacant ground on Allerdyce Road and Duntreath Avenue, known locally as the 'Atlas site', has been earmarked by developers.
A planning application submitted by Kier Property has outlined designs for a mixed use development with garden centre, leisure facilities and a cafe/restaurant.
London-based architects Mountford Piggott have drafted proposals which include designs for the 'simple dark grey box' building.
Another planning application has been submitted to build 75 two and three-bedroom, semi-detached and terraced houses in the area.
The homes would be building on vacant ground at Lilyburn Place, Fasque Place and Achamore Road.
The site previously had four and eight-storey flats which were taken down in 2007.
Planning documents by developer Cruden Estates explains: “The proposal is for residential development on a brownfield site that will provide a viable and marketable development in Drumchapel.
“The houses will provide an attractive addition to the existing market for good quality family housing in Drumchapel.
“All dwellings proposed for the site will be provided with level access to the houses and gardens. All houses will have private gardens.”
Glasgow City Council's planning department will be looking at both applications.
