Christmas is officially around the corner as the dates for the annual festive markets are revealed.

As part of the Glasgow Loves Christmas celebrations, the markets will be rolling into St Enoch Square and George Square from November.

The St Enoch Christmas market will open open Monday - Wednesday between 10am and 9pm and on Thursday - Sunday between 10am - 10pm from November 9 until December 23.

While the festive offering at George Square will open Monday -Wednesday between 10am - 9pm and Thursday - Sunday 10am - 10pm from November 25 until December 31.

Stalls will be offering a selection of gifts, quirky handmade pieces, delicious food and drinks to get you in the Christmas mood.

A statement by organisers says: "Join us at George Square for the Glasgow Christmas Market full of traditional festive gifts and delicious street food, plus fun fairground rides and plenty of family focused street performance.

"We also have our sister Christmas Market at St Enoch Square this year, with a wide selection of festive gifts and delicious street foods to enjoy."

As previously reported by the Evening Times Glasgow’s Christmas markets will return to George Square and St Enoch Square for the next three years.

Market Place Europe Ltd is expected to secure the contract this week to hold events until 2020.

The company had held the festive markets between 2011 and 2016 before losing out on the contract last year.

Organisers are hoping to attract more than a million visitors to the city during the five-week event in December.
