GLASGOW rockers Das Plastixx are set to drop a new single.
Don’t Be Surprised will be available on Friday and the band will celebrate its release with a gig in the city on Saturday.
The song – recorded with Darryll McFadyen at the renowned Gorbals Sound Studios – revolves around the feeling of charisma turning into isolation.
Lead vocalist Jack Mohan’s lyrics show a newfound self-awareness. He sings: “A stranger now, a shadow on the blinds, the long black cloud on the back of my mind,” conveying the thoroughly modern feeling of withdrawal. Guitarist Mark Carroll’s riffs sound bigger and more urgent, and Gavin McCusker’s thundering drums power the track throughout.
Das Plastixx will perform at Nice N Sleazy in Glasgow on Saturday, September 15. The band will be supported by Sobriety and Pillow Talk.
