THE main question was how much would the Big Charity Quiz of the Year raise for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity.
And the answer was - more than £15,000.
It was the first year of the event, which was supported by a donation of 100 newspapers from the Evening Times.
One round of the quiz focused on current affairs with answers coming from our paper, which teams had to buy to take part.
More than 250 guests attended the inaugural event on Friday, September 7at Principal Grand Central Hotel, and all battled hard for the quiz crown, or in this case ‘cone'.
Quiz Master for the afternoon was TV’s Sally Gray, who took the teams through a host of classic and unique categories.
Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity will use the money raised to help fund much-needed support for young patients at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow as well as their families.
Funds will go towards innovative play programmes, family support services, enhanced medical equipment and much more.
Kirsten Sinclair, Chief Operating Officer at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “It was wonderful to see hundreds come together to support our young patients.
“Glasgow businesses have really got behind our Big Charity Quiz of the Year and their support has been incredible.
"They were all vying to be crowned winners, as well as being eager to show their support.
"There was plenty of healthy competition, but everyone truly came together to raise as much money as possible for our brave and inspirational young patients.
“We are exceptionally grateful to everyone that attended the event for their generosity, and to our sponsors MacRoberts and QTS, whose ongoing support and generous contributions make events like this possible.”
