An investigation has been launched after an elderly man was raped by another patient in hospital.
Police are looking into the serious sexual assault involving two patients aged 72-year-old and 69-year-old at University Hospital Wishaw.
The assault is believed to have taken place in a psychiatry ward at the facility.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed: “On Wednesday, September 5 a serious sexual assault, involving two male patients aged 72 and 69 years, occurred within Wishaw General Hospital.
"Following police enquiries a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
