A former nursing home in Dennistoun could be transformed into flats under new plans.
Developers have drawn up plans for the old Peter McKendrick home at Kennyhill Square, near Cumbernauld Road.
The former care home building, parking areas and formal front gardens were demolished over the summer by the owner ahead of the land being transferred to the applicant.
The site, directly beside Alexandra Park and near to St Rollox bowling club, could be the new home of 36 flats.
Kennyhill Square originated as a Victorian mansion in the 19th century before the nursing home was built.
A planning statement adds: “It’s time for an exciting new vision that completes the urban pattern and which finally maximises the fabulous aspect of this leafy corner of Dennistoun.”
The building has been designed to mirror the building line at Easter Craigs on the opposite side of the square but would have six floors instead of the four-storey tenements.
It would comprise of 12 two-apartment, two-person flats, 20 three-apartment, four-person flats and four three-apartment, three-person wheelchair adapted flats.
A total of 36 car parking spaces plus secure bike storage will be added in for residents.
