CALA Homes (West) has donated £1,500 to Corpus Christi Primary School.
The cash boost was handed over by the housebuilder as part of its 2018 community bursary, helping the Glasgow school to complete work on its new state-of-the-art playground.
The playground – designed by Danish company Kompan – is the first of its kind within Glasgow City Council and will promote creativity and social interactivity as well as health and fitness. It is also an inclusive playground suitable for children with additional support needs.
Headteacher Gayle McDonald was thrilled with the generosity from CALA.
She said: “Our old playground was uninspiring and uninviting for our children so we are very grateful to CALA for providing funding to help us to complete the work.
“We have been working hard with the Parent-Teacher Association, families and friends of the school to raise funds needed so the boost from CALA really helped us reach our final total.
“We want our children to be healthy, happy and included which of course will ultimately raise attainment at our school. Not only will the playground have an impact on every single child at our school, but we have also invited the local preschool, Pikeman Nursery, and local community group LINKES to make use of the facilities.”
