An elderly woman has died three days after being struck by a car in Motherwell.
Rose O'Donnell from Avon Street in the town, was struck by a Nissan Qashqai as she crossed Airbles Road around 11.25am.
The 78-year-old was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General Hospital where she died on Tuesday.
The 42-year-old male driver of the Nissan Qashqai was uninjured.
Sergeant Scott Sutherland, Road Policing Unit, Motherwell, said: “A number of people stopped to help Mrs O’Donnell at the time, however, we would still like to speak to anyone who has not yet come forward.
"I am particularly keen to hear from a man, who was seen on CCTV, to run across the road to help Rose.
"Unfortunately he left prior to police arrival so we didn’t manage to find out what he saw.
"We would be grateful if he would give us a call.
"He is described as a tall slim man in his 20's, with short dark hair, and at the time he was wearing a two tone grey tracksuit top, light grey shorts and white trainers.
“If you saw the crash taken place or have any dash-cam footage of what happened, then please contact the Motherwell Road Policing Unit via 101. Please quote reference number 1615 of the 15 September 2018.”
