A NEW South Side bakery has become a hit with Glasgow foodies.
Big Bear Bakery in Battlefield was queued out this morning with locals eager to snap up their famous sourdough bread and other tempting treats.
The bakery sold out of stock in an impressive two hours on their opening day on Saturday.
Resident Rob Redmore shared a snap on social media of the queue and joked,"Queuing for a loaf of bread. Is it 1989 communist Russia? or 2018 Battlefield?
"I need their sourdough to go with my poached chestnut maran eggs with smashed avocado."
The staff anticipated the demand and stayed up overnight to make enough bakery items for today - and it seems their offering yesterday was a complete hit.
Clare Macaulay said: "The caramel brownie was one of the nicest things I've tasted. Baguette was scoffed too...looking forward to sourdough loaf. So excited we live so close."
John Paul Cunningham said: "Pizza and love cake for breakfast. The queue was insane but well worth the wait. But you'll need more cruffins for sure. Glad it's going so well guys."
The bakery firm has been operating since last year but Saturday's opening marked their official arrival in Battlefield.
