1. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
Rated as the number one art museum to visit in the UK on Tripadvisor, this beautiful and historical building is home to a vast and varied collection of renowned art and artefacts.
Although the exhibitions are a must-see, the view from the outside is just as beautiful.
Located in the stunning grounds of Kelvingrove Park, this building is the ideal place for a scenic pic or even a cute selfie - especially in the summer.
2. Views from The Lighthouse
Glasgow’s version of the Blackpool Tower, the Lighthouse Scotland’s Centre for Design and Architecture features wrap-around windows on its viewing platform, a perfect opportunity to get a shot of the city’s urban landscape.
Alternatively, you can climb the 134-step spiral staircase to reach the building’s highest point and gain extraordinary views of the whole city.
3. Glasgow Necropolis
Despite its depressing nature, Glasgow’s Necropolis is actually a stunning site complete, with fantastic architecture and interesting stories.
Although not everyone’s idea of a fun-filled day out, it is perfect for those who fancy something a little quirky and different - not to mention it offers great views of the medieval Glasgow Cathedral as well.
4. Ashton Lane
One of the busiest areas in Glasgow, Ashton Lane is well-known for its wide range of bars, restaurants and even its own cinema.
During winter, the lane sparkles with the help of twinkling fairy lights and, during the summer months, it is bustling with tourists who visit for the al fresco dining experience and to enjoy a cocktail in the sunshine if you’re lucky.
5. University of Glasgow Cloisters
An iconic piece of architecture and very popular destination for wedding pictures, the cloisters, located within the university grounds, offer world-class photo opportunities for many tourists as well as the locals.
The Cloisters have even been featured in TV shows and films such as Outlander and Cloud Atlas, and the university itself is rumored to be the inspiration behind J.K. Rowling’s Hogwarts in the Harry Potter books.
6. Pollok Country Park
Pollok Country Park is Glasgow’s largest park and the winner of various agricultural awards.
Home to a range of challenging mountain bike trails and gorgeous scenery, rain or shine, it’s a must-see for all visitors.
The park's highlight is by far its friendly herd of Highland cows who love the camera so feel free to snap a few shots with these adorable animals.
7. Glasgow City Chambers
By far one of Glasgow’s most important and prestigious buildings, this iconic building has been home to Glasgow’s council for over 100 years.
Overlooking George Sqaure, the building features intricate designs and beautiful architecture - and it is even rumored to contain more marble than the Vatican.
Overall, it's a very popular spot among tourist and locals alike who love to walk down the iconic halls admiring the designs and learning all about the city’s interesting history.
8. Buchanan Street
Located between Sauchiehall Street and St Enoch Square, this is Glasgow’s main shopping boulevard, complete with a huge range of shops and restaurants to suit everyone’s tastes and interests.
You can also find some stunning pieces of architecture and a whole host of live entertainment. This is the one street you can’t afford to miss out during your visit and the locals love it too.
