HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to the young man who was electrocuted to death on the train line close to Dumbreck.

A Scots arts supply store paid tribute to the young man online who has since been revealed as well-known Glasgow graffiti artist Grant Hamilton, also known as Mode.

The 29-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene early on Tuesday morning.

A 29-year-old man, from Glasgow, had also been arrested on suspicion of trespass and vandalism in connection with the incident.

The store, Mainline, wrote on its Facebook page: “Sad news. RIP Mode WMD. Thoughts go out to all family, crew and close ones. Brings home the reality of painting graffiti in risky places. Stay safe out there.”

“Legend in Glasgow. Rest in paint, bro,” read another.

One man wrote: “Never knew the guy personally but saw hands and throws everywhere. Certainly a big player in the scene. RIP, Mode. Thoughts go out to friends family and crew.”

“My boy. True legend,” read another.

Another fan said: “At times, Grant gave me the fear, but would never have wished death on him. Rest in peace, Grant / Mode WMD. Hope the family, friends and crew are doing okay.”

The Evening Times first reported on the incident on Tuesday.

Morning rush-hour services between Glasgow Central and Paisley Gilmour Street had been disrupted amid an incident.

Emergency services were dealing with the incident near the railway between both stations that morning.

This resulted in disruption for trains travelling between Glasgow Central and Ardrossan Harbour, Ayr, Gourock, Largs and Wemyss Bay.

British Transport Police (BTP) later confirmed a person had been injured on the tracks who was then pronounced dead at the scene.
