A PENSIONER was convicted of historic sex abuse against two young boys more than 30 years ago.
William Quigg, 77, of Lintwhite Court, Bridge of Weir, who is a former Scout leader and Scout Commissioner, was found guilty of abusing the two boys from when they were aged 12 and 13.
The offences took place between 1980 and 1986 at various addresses in Glasgow.
Quigg admitted sexually abusing one boy when he was aged between 12 and 15, but he denied raping the other boy and sexually abusing him from the age of 12 to 16.

Neither of the boys were Scouts.
But, the jury at the High Court in Glasgow did not believe him and convicted him of all the abuse.
Judge Lord Burns remanded the first offender in custody and placed him on the sex offenders' register.
Quigg showed no emotion as he was led away to the cells.
The boy raped by Quigg, who is now 48, said: “He was a voracious predatory paedophile and made my life hell.
“This man was clearly beyond cruel. He knew I was very vulnerable and targeted me because of that. He knew there was nothing I could do.”

The man told the jury he met with Quigg after the rape: 'I thought he was maybe going to say sorry. Instead he was very aggressive and said if I told anyone about the abuse. He would say I had assaulted his mother.”
The man, who was in the care of Quigg, claimed that after he complained about being constipated he was raped in a shower room.
When he tried to fight him off, the witness claimed Quigg told him: “Shut up, don't say anything,” and added: “I just couldn't believe what had happened. I was just astounded.”
He told the court: “I have complex post-traumatic stress.”
The victim told prosecutor Kath Harper that he first reported Quigg in 2009, but there were no court proceedings at that time.
Lord Burns called the case “ distressing” and will sentence Quigg at the High Court in Livingston next month.
Defence counsel Euan Dow will give his plea in mitigation then.
