RAPTUROUS applause was heard across Glasgow on Friday as the funeral cortege of Billy McNeill made its way from the city’s Garnethill to Celtic Park.
Fans and mourners earlier gathered in the City Centre to pay their respects to the former Celtic captain and manager.

McNeill's funeral was held at a church in Glasgow and, at 1.30pm, the cortege set off for Parkhead where thousands of supporters were waiting to pay tribute.
McNeill's body was taken to St Aloysius Church on Thursday evening ahead of a service at 11.30am on Friday morning.

Some streets in the city centre and east end of Glasgow werre closed as fans lined the pavements to pay respects.
