FURTHER road closures will be in place this weekend for the continued demolition of the former What Every Woman Wants store in Glasgow city centre.
York Street will close between Broomielaw and Argyle Street as a safety measure from 8 pm on Saturday to 6 am on Monday.
Traffic management operatives will be in a position to assist with access to York Street from the Broomielaw and delays should be expected.
The category B-listed building, which was the popular department store, will be replaced by a modern office block.
The building dates back to 1870 and was originally the flagship for What Every Woman Wants chain.
The chain had around 130 stores around the UK at its peak and closed in 2003 following a period of administration.
It was started by Vera Weisfield and her husband Gerald.
The developers, Osborne and Co, previously said: "We have been advised, independently, by conservation specialists that it is not worthwhile or possible to repair this building due to the condition of its façade and architectural significance."
At least 3000 new jobs were to be created as a result of the development which aims to support the Argyle Street Avenues project.
