Helen Flanagan has said 'goodbye' to Glasgow as she leaves the city after partner Scott Sinclair's departure from Celtic.

The 30-year-old footballer signed a deal with Preston North End on Wednesday after a four-year spell with the Parkhead side.

Since moving to Glasgow in 2016, former Coronation Street star Helen says she has had the "happiest memories" in the city.

She says since the move, the pair's first child Matilda, four, has a Scottish accent - with their second baby Delilah, one, being born in the city.

Helen, 29, shared a picture of her breastfeeding Delilah in Kelvingrove Park to her 900,000 followers.

She wrote: "Glasgow will always have such a special place in my heart.

"I have the happiest memories of my life so far in Glasgow, Matilda was only one when we moved here and has a Scottish accent... Delilah was born in Glasgow and my wee baby is Scottish and will always be a Glasgow girl.

"I have made life long friends who I care and love so much.

"This is my fave picture in Glasgow at Kelvingrove park, my fave.

"Thank you for all your lovely messages made me emotional to read them".

Around 50,000 people have so far liked the post, with dozens commenting their support.

Fan Pamela Cheery wrote: "Helen the way you have embraced Glasgow, Scotland and Celtic makes us girls so sad you're away.

"Your girls, the way u support Scott and Matilda in her princess dresses with the hoops football tops over them are just some of the reasons.

"You may walk the cobbles of Weatherfield but you will always be welcome walking along the Celtic Way."

Tracy Al-Amree added: "Good luck to you both, you will always be a part of the Celtic family".

And Lauren McGinley said: "Good luck on your family's new journey, Scotty will always be a hero in our hearts".

Scott Sinclair also took to social media to pay thanks after his time in the city after singing the two-and-half-year deal down south. 

He shared two videos to Instagram - one of his playing highlights and another of fans singing his name.

He wrote: "Thank you Celtic, the staff and players we’ve created history and made amazing memories that I will never forget.

"From the invincible treble, treble-treble and on a personal note being the top scorer in the time we did it and becoming Scotland’s player of the year.

"But most importantly thank you to all the fans for the love and support you have shown me over the last 3 and half years I’ve been here.

"It has been inspirational, an honour and pleasure to wear the shirt, you will be missed."
