A FRESH bid to open a drive-thru Starbucks in Glasgow's East End has been launched.
Plans were withdrawn in April but a new application for the land on Alexandra Parade has now been submitted to the city council.
Developers say concerns over parking and the amount of vehicles entering and exiting the site have been addressed in the new proposals.
Around 20 jobs could be created if the drive-thru gets permission from the council. The site is currently used as a car wash on the forecourt of a BP filling station.

"At the time of withdrawal concerns had been raised with regards to parking provision and vehicular circulation within the site," a planning report, on behalf of the developers, states.
"We believe that in reconfiguring the layout and reducing the number of parking spaces to six, these concerns have been addressed.
"Town centre locations are not always possible, and in this case, the site-specific nature of the proposed development, operating side-by-side with the existing use, confirms that this is an appropriate location for the proposed drive-thru.
"The proposed development would not impact on the vitality and viability of any town centre, nor was it appropriate in this instance to cover alternative sites.
"It will make a positive contribution to the local area by creating direct and indirect job opportunities during the construction phase and then during operation of the drive-thru Starbucks, when up to 20 new permanent jobs would be created.
"The proposal will compliment the existing commercial uses already on the site and also the shopping and service provision that is already located in the immediate vicinity of the site."

The developers want the Starbucks to open from 8am to 10pm. However, they have told the council they are willing to discuss alternative times.
Four spaces for bikes have also been included in the application.
A decision on whether or not approval will be granted should be made in the coming months.
