AN UBER driver convicted of 12-years of domestic abuse against his wife has lost his private hire car licence.
Mohammad Aziz, 48, was found guilty of repeatedly kicking the woman on her face and body, striking her with a belt, a pair of kitchen tongs and seizing her by her hair on more than one occasion between 2005 and 2017.
In May 2018 Aziz was convicted of assault to injury against his wife, who he is now separated from, and ordered to complete a community payback order as well as complete 240 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.

Aziz was brought before the licensing committee on Thursday to explain himself, however his lawyer informed the board that the incidents had been fabricated.
He said: “My client accepts that he was convicted and respects the guilty verdict but claims these incidents did not happen.
“He maintains that members of his family made false allegations about him. His daughter gave evidence in support of him. He had previously made a complaint about his son against his daughter.
“Mr Aziz believes he is still a fit and proper person to hold such a licence.”
Councillors questioned Mr Aziz’s version of events.
Chairman councillor Alex Wilson said: “The question is, who do we believe? The court or Mr Aziz’s claim that this incident was fabricated?
“The court still found him guilty of domestic abuse which is not acceptable or tolerated especially against a partner who you are supposed to love.”

His lawyer continued: “He averages at a 4.5-star rating from his customers and has worked long hours.
“There have been no complaints made against him about the quality of service from his customers and he has dealt with some challenging people in his time.”
Following the discussion members refused the renewal of Mr Azizi’s private hire car driver’s licence.
