A man is being treated in Monklands hospital after being stabbed in the early hours of Friday morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1.40am yesterday morning after a report of a stabbing on Grieve Road.
Medical staff have described his injuries as 'non-life threatening' and have said he is in stable condition.
Police are appealing for information while enquiries continue.
A police spokesperson said: "Police were called around 1.41am today to a report of a stabbing in Grieve Road, Cumbernauld."
"Emergency services attended the scene and a man was taken by ambulance to Monklands hospital. Medical staff describe his injuries as non-life threatening and he is currently in a stable condition."
"Enquiries remain ongoing and officers are appealing for any witnesses to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 0215 of 7 February."
