An 84-year-old has been targeted by a fraudster claiming to be from HMRC in an attempt to scam payment out of the pensioner.
The Coatbridge pensioner received a phone call in which someone demanded payment in the form of Amazon gift cars.
Police have issued a warning to remain vigilant to such phone calls.
The force urged members of the public to "hang up the phone" if they are being asked to pay bills in gift cards.
