A VULNERABLE pensioner was mugged in her own home in Maryhill by con artists who pretended to be distressed.
The 78-year-old woman was targeted in Kirkhill Place in the Wyndford area of Maryhill on Tuesday evening.
A handbag and cash was stolen during the robbery.
The Glasgow Times understands that the suspects, believed to be female, gained access to the house by pretending to be distressed. One even claimed she was pregnant.
Police Scotland are now appealing for information to trace the thieves. Both women are described as being aged between 30 and 40, one with a strong Glaswegian accent and dark clothing.
The other is described to have a softly spoken Glaswegian accent, who was also wearing dark clothing.

Constable James Johnston, of the Community Investigation Unit, said: "Although the elderly woman did not require hospital treatment, this has been an extremely frightening incident for her.
"She has been left very shaken and is being supported by our officers and partner agencies.
“We will not tolerate this type of behaviour and criminality in our communities. It is vital that we trace the people responsible.
"We are looking for any witnesses who may have observed the suspects in the area before or running away after the incident.
"We are also appealing to any taxi drivers or other vehicles with dash cam footage which may have caught the suspects running away and in the area."
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to call Police on 101, quoting reference number 2354 of 3 March.
The Glasgow Times has also learned that officers who attended the scene after the crime was reported comforted the victim by buying her a fish supper and making her tea.
