On street parking charges are to be suspended by Glasgow City Council to support key workers using their own cars to get to jobs.
Councillor Elaine Ballantyne said the changes will come into force on Monday and also aim to drive down the use of public transport, which is operating at a reduced frequency.

Posting on Twitter she said: "From Monday 23rd March GCC will suspend on street car parking charges following current govt advice to avoid, when possible, use of public transport and in response to a reduced public transport service in order to help support key workers using their cars."

In response to being asked if bus lanes would continue to operate she said enforcement would focus on, "disabled parking pays and yellow lines."
