THREE men have been arrested following a disturbance in Govanhill that has seen a man taken to hospital after being injured.

Eyewitnesses described seeing a man being chased along Govanhill Street by a group of other men before attempting to flee in a vehicle.

Police were called to the scene shortly before 4pm after locals reported the incident.

Glasgow Times:

A 39-year-old man has been taken to hospital with injuries but his condition is currently unknown. 

Multiple police vans remain at the scene and the length of Govanhill Street has been sealed with police tape from Cathcart Road to Langside Road.

A black Audi car is inside the police cordon and officers were seen taking statements from witnesses.

Police Scotland is now asking for anyone with information about the disturbance to come forward. 

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A report was received of a disturbance in the Govanhill Street area of Glasgow around 3.50pm on Sunday, April 19.

"A 39-year-old was injured in the incident and has been taken to hospital.

"Three men have been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
