THIS is the moment a heated row broke out after a pair were spotted having a BBQ during the coronavirus lockdown.

Footage sent to the Glasgow Times shows the duo enjoying the sunshine at Speirs Warf on the Clyde and Forth Canal, just north of the M8.

But the afternoon soon turned into a heated argument with a woman - thought to be the mother of a frontline NHS worker.

She launched into a furious rant against the "selfish" pair, asking "what makes you so special?"

Under lockdown legislation, the only "permissible" reasons to leave your home are to ecercise once a day alone or with your own household, to shop for necessities, for medical reasons or to care for a vulnerable person, or to travel to essential work that cannot be done from home.

In the footage, the woman said: "Are you two having a lovely time? It makes me sick.

"My poor son is telling people every damn day their families are dying, and you're having a party?

"You are a selfish pair."

While inaudible in the footage, it's understood the pair then began to explain how they are from the same household.

They are also understood to live in the flats beside the benches.

But the woman was not having any of it.

She replied: "That's not the point.

"What makes you so special that you can party and the rest of us are all stuck inside?

"The problem is that you are a pair of selfish idiots.

"I hope to god someone you know dies from it, then you'll be sorry."

It comes as we exclusively revealed that as of last week, 113 fixed penalty notices were issued in the Greater Glasgow police division.

An additional 404 people within the Glasgow area were asked to disperse when flouting the rules - with a further 115 given a warning of the consequences if they refused.

And emergency coronavirus powers have allowed the Greater Glasgow Police Division to arrest eight people since March 27.
