TWO hospitals in the west of the city have bagged one of the top prizes at this
years National Hospital Radio Awards.
The volunteer-run service which broadcasts weekly to the Beatson and the Gartnavel claimed one of the night’s most sought after awards with Gold in the Special Events category.
Speaking of their win, HBS Chairman, Niall Anderson said: "This is such a fantastic achievement for our team of dedicated volunteers.
“We’d arranged to do a sponsored walk to raise vital funds to keep the service on the air."
Now, more than ever, hospital radio stations are playing a pivotal role in the lives of patients.
Volunteers at HBS have been working hard to maintain the service from their homes throughout the coronavirus lockdown.
The service also reaches the Queen Elizabeth University and the Royal Alexandra Hospitals.
