A man's body has been found in the search for a missing Glasgow man Joseph Duffy.

The body was found in the River Clyde near Pointhouse Place on Saturday afternoon. 

Joseph Duffy, 39, was last seen around midnight on April 11 at his home in Kirkowarld Road in the Newlands area.

Families and friends paid tribute to the 39-year-old man, while Police diving crews continued to search for his body. 

Formal identification of the body is yet to take place but his family has been informed about the discovery. 

A statement issued by the force read: "Police Scotland can confirm the body of a man was found in the River Clyde near Pointhouse Place, Glasgow, around 1.30pm on Saturday, May 2, 2020.

"Formal identification is still to take place but the family of 39-year-old Joseph Duffy, who was reported missing from Glasgow on 11 April, have been informed.

"There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
