WE love our city. From the Barras to the Botanic Gardens, Hampden Park to Glasgow Green, it really does have it all.
It's also home to some of the world's most famous faces and has welcomed icons from across the globe to its streets.
We've put together a quiz of phrases said about our city or by stars of stage and screen when they spent time here.

It was of course one of the funniest men of all-time, Billy Connolly. The Big Yin has entertained generations across the globe with his brilliant wit and timeless comedy.
He was even named by our readers as the greatest Glaswegian of all-time and we'd find it hard to disagree.

Hollywood starlet Mae West is said to have brought the city to a standstill during her visit in 1947. The acting legend was in the city to perform her self-penned play Diamond Lil at the Alhambra Theatre.

Outlander star Sam Heughen said this famous quote to The Herald in 2015. Now a household name, thanks to his role in the blockbuster series, he spent two years honing his craft at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland).

It was of course First Minister and Glasgow Southside MSP Nicola Sturgeon, who made the remarks during a 2014 column. Serving the constituency since 2007, when it was known as Glasgow Govan, Ms Sturgeon became First Minister of Scotland in November 2014.

Dundee-born and bred, Charlie Adam moved to the Gers as a teenager before later making the grade at the Ibrox side. He famously helped Walter Smith's men reach the final of the Uefa Cup in 2008, where they lost to Zenit Saint Petersburg.
He has since gone on to have a successful career in England, playing for Blackpool, Liverpool, Stoke City, and now Reading.

He was one of the 20th century music's most famous names and is the voice of Hello, Dolly, Wonderful World, and Mack the Knife. But, Glasgow got its own taste of jazz star Louis Armstrong when he played a hit show in May 1956. He previously visited the city during 1933.

In one of his last interviews before he sadly passed away in December, wordsmith Alasdair Gray made the remarks when asked about the influence Glasgow had had on his work.
Born in Riddrie, east Glasgow, he studied at the Glasgow School of Art, and later became Writer-in-Residence at the University of Glasgow from 1977 to 1979.

From this moment on, it was clear Shania Twain was going to embrace the Glasgow spirit after being snapped in Buck's Bar ahead of her SSE Hyrdo show in 2018.

The Riverside Museum has become one of the city's most famous examples of modern architecture. Opened in 2011, it later was crowned European Museum of the Year in 2013.
Iraqi-British architect Dame Zaha Hadid was the genius behind the design, which earend her plaudits from around the world.
Sadly, she passed away at just 65 in 2016.
