SEVERAL arrests have been made after dozens of police rushed to Cumbernauld to deal with an incident on Sunday night.
The force said they received reports of two young people allegedly forcing entry into a house in Rowan Road in the town's Abronhill on Sunday at 7 pm.
Police attended but the pair had made off. The force deployed its dog unit to the area and the two young people were later traced and arrested.
They were charged in connection with various offences including assault, possession of an offensive weapon, theft by housebreaking, and vandalism.

The youths, whose ages were not given, were released on an undertaking to appear at court at a future date. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
In another incident believed to be linked, two men aged 29 and 34 years were arrested and charged in connection with being in possession of offensive weapons, assault, and drugs offences.
They were expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
