SHOP staff in an off-licence were threatened by a man throwing petrol in an attempted robbery. 

Staff at the One-O-One on Liddesdale Avenue in Milton were threatened by the would-be robber who threw petrol in the shop on Monday, June 1 at 4.40pm.

Police attended the scene and fortunately, no-one was injured in the attack and nothing was stolen. 

The man left the shop and headed in the direction of nearby Scalpay Street.

Police are looking a man who is described as white, Scottish, wearing a grey coloured hooded jumper with the hood up, black coloured jogging bottoms with green and white stripes running down the legs, white trainers. He had the lower half of his face covered with a scarf or a snood.

Officers are currently carrying out door to door enquiries in the North Glasgow neighbourhood.

A police spokesman said: "Enquiries are underway following the report of an attempted robbery at the G101 shop in Liddesdale Avenue in Glasgow. Around 4.40pm on Monday, June 1, 2020, a man entered the shop and threatened staff by throwing petrol in the premises. Nobody was injured, and nothing was stolen. The man left the shop and headed towards Scalpay Street. The man is described as being white, Scottish, and was wearing a grey coloured hooded jumper with the hood up, black coloured jogging bottoms with green and white stripes running down the legs, white trainers, and had the lower half of his face covered with a scarf or a snood.
