AFTER a long two and a half months, Glaswegians rejoiced on Tuesday as they were finally able to get their hands on a Big Mac.
Shortly after McDonald's reopened drive-through branches across the country at 11am, photos and videos circulated on social media of queues of cars stretching yards back as hungry punters waited hours for a fast food fix.
At the Robroyston branch - which was the first to reopen in the city - police officers even had to step in to control the rows of vehicles.

Cops could be seen giving signalling orders to hungry customers and discussing traffic control measures with members of staff.
Glaswegians - some baffled and some appalled - have had their say on the hordes of queues lined up for their first McDonald's hit in 10 weeks.
Winifred Provan, said: "All this for a burger, stupidity!"
Kim Smillie, said: "No chance for a sh***y burger and soggy chips."
Carol Maley said: "All for a rubber burger and cold chips."
Pete Andrews called the punters "complete buffoons".
"Look at you all embarrassing yourselves, you muppets", said a man with the username John Lennon on Twitter.

On Facebook, some condemned the use of the police force to control and manage the growing queues.
Martin Thomson, said: "The Police should not be expected to deal with this, they should have shut the place.
"This is not the best use of resources."
Sharron Duncan added: "Stupid people - hurting the environment and wasting police time - and you wonder why we have an obesity problem."
Andrew Doherty said: "Sure the police have got better things to be doing than controlling numpties out for a cardboard burger!"

Meanwhile, one person argued that police should have shut the Robroyston branch down.
Janet Laurie said: "Police should just shut it down.... people are idiots."
Scores of people on social media were enraged, arguing that the keen customers were flouting lockdown rules.
Alexander Mcgowan said: "All rather sad, people showing a complete disregard for government guidelines.
"I really despair at times."
Frances MacKinnon added: "That place isn't essential and queuing up for it, jeezo, is mind-boggling.
"Can't they make their own at home it doesn't take long.
"Typical, in the middle of a pandemic and everyone forgets about it because the rotten McDonald opens up."

Margaret Mitchell, said: "Well if it cheers our poor kids up... that's their treat.
"I'm sure we'd all queue for our beer and wine at the weekends."
Karen Mackenzie added: "At the end of the day the past 3 months have been a trial for most, if spending hours waiting for fast food makes you feel better about life why not!
"I am sure there is something we would all happily queue for hours to make life a bit more enjoyable at the minute."
