A GANG of thugs battered two men outside city centre flats during a shocking late night attack.

The victims, aged 38 and 45, were rushed to hospital after being pounced upon near Grafton Place and Hanover Court, in Townhead, at around 9.15pm.

Police say the men were hunted down by a group of eight thugs before being assaulted.

The brutes are then believed to have fled the scene in 4x4 vehicle and a Mercedes.

One victim was treated for a broken arm and the other for broken fingers. Both were taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and have since been released.

Detective Constable Fraser Gunn at Stewart Street CID Office said: “The men we want to trace in relation to this incident are only described as being Eastern European in appearance and were wearing jeans and t-shirts.

"They possibly left the area in two vehicles, which are described as being a red 4 x 4 vehicle and a white Mercedes vehicle. I would ask anyone who may have been in the area of Grafton Place and Hanover Court around this time to call us on the 101 number if they witnessed anything which might help in this investigation.

"I would also ask anyone who may have been driving in this area in a vehicle fitted with a dash-cam to review their footage to see if they may have captured anything which might assist this investigation.
