Armed officers swooped in on a Cathcart home after receiving reports of a man in possession of a firearm.
At least six armed officers were seen by Cathcart train station last night.
Police raced to Delvin Road around 9.20pm on Monday but found no trace of the individual.

Officers carried out a search of a home on Kirkwell Road and recovered two firearms from the property.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the search.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 9.20pm on Monday, June 29, 2020, police were called following a report of a man in possession of a firearm on Delvin Road, Glasgow.
"Officers attended and there was no trace of the individual.
"Further enquiries were carried out at an address on Kirkwell Road in Glasgow and a 24-year-old man was arrested in connection. Two firearms were recovered from the property."
