EAST END brunch hotspot Scran went from being mobbed to only being able to allow three customers at a time.
Owner and chef Chris Mears, 42, described the importance of supporting the "wee guys" as we come out of the pandemic as he told of the impact the outbreak had on the business.
"It has cost us thousands. That is it in short, it has cost us thousands in revenue," Chris said.
"We could have stayed open as a take away but we decided that was the wrong thing to do for us, we chose to first and foremost look after my staff and the public."
Scran opened less than two years ago but has already become a beloved brunch spot and the 42-year-old chef believes it fits in perfectly to the community.
Describing the award-winning cafe, he said: "It is a nice varied menu – something for everybody.
"It fits quite well into the East End of Glasgow – it is not a snobby menu but it is still diverse with nice twists and with some fancy dishes in there."
Two months into lockdown Chris and his team decided to open for take away, but with safety precautions a new priority a lot changed for Scran.
Screens were put in place, customers are asked to wear masks and the restaurant only opens Friday to Sunday to allow staff to self-isolate in case they develop symptoms.
"You just have to adapt the best you can. At the forefront we are keeping everybody safe," Chris added.
But the East End community is dedicated enough to their delicious food that they are willing queue outside the door on the days they are open.
Chris said: "We are so busy, we have a queue going down Alexandra Parade. We are still taking in enough to keep us open and keep the business alive. But with the social distancing in place there is no way we can open sit-in.
"Scran is pretty small, basically three metres by three metres, so you can’t have people sitting in."
His message to Glaswegians as the restaurant makes a comeback was to "for the time being support the wee guys as much as you can."
"You need to prioritise the ones you want to survive because otherwise they might not. "
