DISCOUNT supermarket favourites Farmfoods want to open a new store in the city's Pollok creating up to 20 jobs.
The retailer has asked to build a new Farmfoods in Peat Road on the site of former car dealership Arnold Clark which has been vacant for eight years.
The proposal includes a supermarket, parking, servicing, and landscaping.
Originally founded in 1955, Farmfoods claim to have over 330 stores in the UK.
In Glasgow alone, there are over 20 stores including recent openings in London Road, Clyde Gateway, and Drumry Road East.

A planning statement said: "Previously Farmfoods occupied a unit in the former Pollok Shopping Centre up until its development as the Silverburn Shopping Centre.
"At present, the company does not have any stores serving the south-west of the city.
"The nearest Farmfoods stores to the application site are at Thornliebank and Barrhead - both outwith Glasgow City boundary."
It added: "The company has been very active in assisting Glasgow City Council's covid-19 support scheme - the city council has been issuing Farmfoods payment cards to qualifying households throughout the period of school closures brought about by the Covid-19 measures."
The investment involved in building for the new store would be around £1 million with jobs for 15 to 20 people.
Farmfoods said two-third of positions would be full-time and the remainder part-time.
A decision is expected by city planners on September 2. The last date for comments is August 10.
