Scotland has recorded its highest daily positive coronavirus tests in almost a month, rising from yesterday's figure.
A total of 23 new cases have been confirmed in a 24-hour period, the highest number since June 21.
The total number of positive cases in Scotland has risen to 18,445.
Nicola Sturgeon added that the number of new cases is still "low".
She said: "This is still a low number of cases - and fluctuation is to be expected - but they will all be carefully examined so that any patterns are identified.
"Test and Protect is also working to break the chains of transmission. But we must all play our part by remembering FACTS."
However, there have still been no new registered deaths relating to the virus, the death toll remains at 2491.
The number of patients in hospital also decreased with a total of 302 receiving care overnight after testing positive.
A total of four people were receiving intensive care.
Of the hospitalised patients, 171 were in hospitals in the Greater Glasgow area.
