A RANGERS fan who took a public holiday off returned to his office to find it had been ‘redecorated’ in Celtic colours - in a 12-hour practical joke.
Workers at home improvement firm More Living Ltd in Blantyre had been off for three months in the lockdown but returned to the office last week.
When Gers fan Thomas Murphy, 37, known to his colleagues as ‘Big Tam’, told them he was taking Monday off when they were on a skeleton staff, he was promised a ‘surprise’.
Celtic-daft colleague Craig McGeown, 44, painstakingly printed out green-and-white logos and between 11am and 11.30pm, sellotaped them to the walls of Big Tam’s desk area.
Even the desk and the office chair were covered in shamrocks as well as the 10sqm walls.
The prank resonated with both Celtic and Rangers’ fans who universally praised Craig’s creativity - and Big Tam rated it ten-out-of-ten for effort.

Monday was a public holiday in Glasgow, for a weekend known as Glasgow Fair.
Dad-of-two Craig said: “We were off for three months but came back into the office last week to look after customers who previously placed orders.
“We are on a skeleton team and social distancing.
“When Big Tam said he was taking time off over the public holiday weekend, I was like ‘you’ve had three months off’, I thought I’d play a wee practical joke on him.
“I started at 11am and I left the office at 11.30pm.
“I printed it off on A4 bits of paper and sellotaped it - a few people have contacted me saying would I do their bedrooms.
“It was good fun between friends, but at his expense.”

Football fans from both Old Firm teams rated the prank when it was shared on social media.
Craig, from Pollok, added: “Celtic fans have been saying it’s great, Rangers fans have said it’s great banter.
“We all work together, we all live in the same city.”
Dad-of-three Big Tam added: “I was told I was to come back to a surprise but I thought it would be something different.
“Coming in to see that wasn’t what I was expecting - it will be coming down today.
“It’s not just a couple of pics, he’s gone to town - hats off for effort.
“It is nice being back in the office, they are good company, it makes your day and it helps an awful lot.
“It is ten-out-of-ten for effort.
“I was impressed with the effort, maybe not the colour scheme but the effort.
“Something like this is just banter, there’s no malice.
“It made me laugh this morning when I came back, it was a funny surprise to come back to.”
