An East End pub has claimed a customer with confirmed coronavirus has visited the premises.
The Swinton in Ballieston alerted their customers via a Facebook post, adding that they have since tested all members of staff for the virus.
The bar said that all tests had returned negative while they reassured customers they have been following "strict" guidelines since their reopening.
They claim the customer with coronavirus who visited the pub had returned from holiday and not quarantined.
A statement reads: "We would like to update you all, as most of you are aware we have been informed by someone that was on our premises they have tested positive for covid.
"This person was on holiday and did not quarantine on their return.
"We decided as management that we would not await the official phone call from the NHS which can take days.
"We tried to do the right thing in letting our customers know!
"We are getting so many supportive comments and we thank you. We are also getting some backlash and negativity!
"We want to advise that we follow strict guidelines - hand sanitizer stations track and trace, markings on floors for one way systems, all tables two-metres apart, constant deep cleans, waitress service, booking system so as not to go over our allowed capacity and police visits to check on measures.
"All of our staff have now been tested for COVID-19 and all results have came back negative.
"We will always do what’s best for our customers!
"Let’s also remember that someone has tested positive and we wish them a full recovery.
"We hope you all understand."
