A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an ongoing crackdown on firearm offences. 

Officers recovered a number of guns and ammunition from a property in Douglas Crescent in Erskine on Saturday. 

It comes as part of an ongoing intelligence-led operation by the force.

A 55-year-old man is due to appear in court at Glasgow Sheriff Court today in connection with the recovery.

Detective Inspector Martin McGhee, of Police Scotland's Specialist Crime Division, said: "We have recovered a number of firearms and ammunition following an intelligence-led operation.

"I would urge anyone who has information about the criminal use of firearms to contact Police Scotland on 101. Your information will be treated with the utmost confidence.
