PLANS have been submitted to build flats in Springboig.
Developers are bidding to transform existing retail units, left, on Springboig Road into eight homes near to Glen Avenue.
The plans would see the space, which currently houses a post office, retail store, and takeway, demolished with a “higher quality” unit constructed in its place.
Council officers will consider the application before the end of 2020.
Elsewhere, proposals have also been submitted to erect a 5G mast in Blackhill. Telecommunication companies Cornerstone and Telefónica UK hope to build the pole on Cumbernauld Road.
In submitted documents, developers wrote: “The enclosed application is...the most suitable option that balances operational need with local planning policies and national policy guidance.”
