MORE than 100 prisoners at Barlinnie have tested positive following an outbreak of coronavirus at the jail.
Prison bosses have confirmed 116 cases at the East End jail.
In its daily updated coronavirus figures, the Scottish Prisons Service (SPS) revealed there were currently 719 people self-isolating across 11 prison buildings in the country.

The "vast majority" of inmates who have tested positive at Barlinnie are asymptomatic, according to a prison spokesman.
He added: "Most of the people we tested are not showing symptoms.

"They tested positive after a large-scale voluntary testing programme we rolled out at HMP Barlinnie after an outbreak was recorded."
The SPS confirmed on its website a "significant number of individuals are self-isolating after potential contact with a positive case".
